Cavenaghi Disappointed at River

Fernando Cavenaghi has said that it has been one of the worst years for River Plate. The striker made his move to the Argentine side permanent in the summer transfer window, and he has been one of the star performers of the club so far. This is his second spell at the Argentine club after his short spell in Europe came to an end in the summer. He has so far made 17 appearances for the club and has scored 13 goals in the process. Despite this, Fernando Cavenaghi has said that the 2011 ranks as one of the worst seasons for River Plate.

The club was relegated from the first division of the Argentine championship for the very first time in its history. However, with the addition of players like Fernando Cavenaghi, they are hoping to make a comeback into the first division pretty soon. Fernando Cavenaghi has said that the main aim of the club this season will be to win the National Championship B, which will ensure their promotion to the top flight. He also said that it is extremely important for a club like River Plate to be in the top flight of the Argentine football. River Plate is one of the well supported clubs in Argentina, but they were relegated for the first time in their history recently.

“It was a tough year for River, the worst of all time and I have no doubt that in 2012 will be different. The idea is to end up there , winning the last game and obviously expect a draw or a defeat of the Institute for being first. But a lot missing, 21 dates, “he said. Fernando Cavenaghi also said that a club like River Plate should not be in the second division for long.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reveals the news every fan wants to hear
Daily Mail
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted he is finally ready to splash the cash this summer, but insists it was the cost of the club’s new ground that prevented him spending out in the past.

The Gunners have now gone five seasons without winning a trophy, leaving some supporters to demand more players are bought in before next season.

Arsenal’s new 60,000 capacity home cost nearly £400million to build, and Wenger claims: ‘The construction of the Emirates Stadium meant that for many years we could not spend a lot of money,’ said Wenger.

‘Our financial situation has greatly improved. We are finally able to buy the players we think we need.  We need to fill our boots for strikers.  Exciting times’
